The essentials

What is Secret Forest?

Secret Forest is an open-world MMORPG that invites you to explore a vast and magical universe. Choose your race and forge your own path as you battle challenging enemies, uncover ancient secrets, learn different professions and form alliances with players from around the world.

What platforms will the game be on?

PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, Steam (PC) and Nintendo Switch 2. A release for high-end mobile devices is planned for later.

Is there cross-play?

Yes — you can play with friends on different platforms, starting with the Beta version. There is no local (same-screen) multiplayer.

Is there pay-to-win?

No. Microtransactions are purely cosmetic — mounts, costumes, visual effects and similar items. Nothing you buy affects your character’s stats. There is also no autoplay.

What is the age rating?

PG-12.

Can I play solo, or do I need a group?

Both. It is an online open-world game, but it can be played entirely solo or with a party. There are PVE zones and PVP zones, and PVP is always optional.

How many races can I play?

Ten. Six are free at launch and four are paid content — but every pre-order pack unlocks all ten forever.

How do I get access, and when?

Access to the Closed Beta comes with any of the packs on this site, and it opens in waves: helpers first, then volunteers with the largest packs, then the rest. Exact dates are always announced first on our Discord and newsletter.

Races, classes & character creation

Which races are there, and are they in factions?

Ten playable races in two factions. Light: elves, fairans, doggies, axolotls and foxys. Darkness: goblins, embears, catties, trolls and aquans. The differences between races are in their design.

Are there fixed classes?

Not in the traditional sense. When you create your character you assign a permanent zodiac sign, which grants core attributes and a passive skill — so some signs suit certain weapons or magic types better. From there you are free to choose your weapons and magical elements, and your skill tree defines your role.

How deep is character creation?

You can choose race, body type, build, height, musculature, skin colour, hair, beard, moustache, facial features and much more.

What is the maximum level?

Level 60.

What resource bars does my character have?

Three. Health (HP) drops when you take damage. Stamina is used for running, climbing, weapon attacks, blocking, dodging, rolling and weapon special skills. Mana (MP) is needed to cast elemental spells and abilities.

Are there professions?

Yes — twelve full professions, with precision systems, their own skill trees and interconnections between them.

Combat, weapons & magic

What weapons can I use?

Eight weapon types, each with its own skill tree: staves, magic wands, bows and arrows, boomerangs, sword and shield, heavy weapons, dual swords and light weapons. Every weapon has basic attacks anyone can use; extra abilities, combos and special skills are unlocked through its skill tree.

How does magic work?

There are eight magical elements — Water, Ice, Fire, Wind, Nature, Earth, Metal and Electric — and each one has its own skill tree with active and passive abilities, from area attacks to healing.

How many weapons and elements can I carry at once?

Three weapons and three magical elements at the same time. The game is designed so that at maximum level you have three fairly complete weapon trees and three element trees — but not entirely complete, so every level you earn is a real choice.

What moves does my character have?

Walk, run, jump, double jump, hang glide, climb, swim, dash and roll.

Are there bosses and PVP?

Yes, including large-scale battles. PVP is optional and takes place in designated PVP zones on the map.

How many rarity levels are there?

Six: common, uncommon, rare, legendary, epic and immortal.

The world & playing together

How is the world structured?

The map is divided into many islands, and each island is a sizable open world with its own biome and its own part of the story. Islands are built for specific level ranges, which keeps the balance between players and enemies, and you travel between them with teleports.

Are there special islands?

Yes. Beyond the main islands there will be islands with special game systems — battle-royale style modes, party versus party and more — added gradually.

Can I play with friends who are far ahead of me?

Yes, and that is by design. Islands have fixed ranks, so you can join friends on any island: item quality scales with the island rank, and a shared rewards tree fuelled by the experience you earn anywhere improves your chances of rare finds. Playing with friends is always worth it.

How big are the parties and the servers?

Parties are up to 5 players. There are multiple servers, each holding 2,500–3,000 players.

Are there guilds?

Yes, along with alternate quests and plenty to do together.

Can I trade with other players?

Yes. Players can trade items and in-game currency, there are NPC shops, and there are internal and guild auction houses.

Are there pets and mounts?

Yes — pets, plus ground mounts and flying mounts.

Will there be player housing?

Yes. Every player will have a personal island for housing and professions. It will not be there on day one; it arrives in a later update.

Will the game keep growing after launch?

Yes. The game launches with a set size and level cap, and the plan is to keep adding content regularly — the island structure makes expanding the world very manageable.

Packs, purchases & accounts

What do the packs include?

Every pack — Starter, Collector, Deluxe and Secret — includes a digital copy of the game, access to the Closed Beta with your progress saved until the official release, all ten races forever, and a digital pet. The higher tiers add the digital soundtrack and more pets and mounts.

Can I upgrade my pack later?

You can upgrade before the Closed Beta begins. Afterwards the upgrade closes, but other mounts, pets and cosmetics will still be available.

Do I keep what I buy?

Yes. Purchases are bound to the account that buys them, exactly like the cosmetic items you find by playing. Your rewards are stored and linked to your purchase automatically — you do not need to claim anything.

How do I log in to test the game?

With the email address used for the purchase and a password sent to that address. You do not need to send proof of purchase — it is already in our database. If you bought more than one pack, you will receive the procedure to use one account per pack.

Can I use one account on two consoles at the same time?

No. A Zelcar Games account can only be in use on one console at a time — you can switch consoles, but not play on both at once. If you bought two copies and want to play simultaneously, register them to two different accounts.

Does it work on Mac?

Not during the Closed Beta, so we do not recommend buying beta access if you plan to play on macOS.

Everything here can still change while the game is in development. If anything important changes — features, dates, mechanics — we will announce it on our Discord and newsletter first.
